how to draw straight line in gimp

Intention¶

This tutorial shows yous how yous can do straight lines with GIMP, using the Shift cardinal. This tutorial doesn't apply straight lines for complex tasks; its intended to bear witness how y'all tin can apply it to create quick and easy line furnishings.

Step 1¶

Starting time, create a new epitome. Whatever size will do.

Step 2¶

And so click on the paintbrush. Any of the ruby-highlighted tools on the higher up toolbox can do lines.

Stride three¶

Subsequently y'all click the paintbrush tool, y'all tin click the paradigm. A single dot will appear on the screen. The size of this dot represents the current brush size, which you tin change in the Castor Dialog.
At present, lets kickoff cartoon a line. Concur down the Shift push, and keep it downward.

Step four¶

After you accept a starting point, and have held downwardly the Shift key, you'll see a line like above if you lot're running GIMP version ane.2.x or subsequently. This feature was not present in GIMP version 1.0.4. However, the next step works the same mode.
